Hi Fred. I have no file named 'Adventure Construction Set' in my archive. So we're going to need to get a little more specific in what your problem is. The game files I include in the zip are 'advcnst1.d64' and 'advcnst2.d64' which have been around for years and have been fully playtested with the old CCS64 emulator. I've even designed entire 15-region adventures using these two .d64 files and saved the work (which is in my collected upload). Just tried the advcnst1.d64 file in the download archive and it starts with the old EA logo, then the music plays and it goes to the opening screen for Adventure Construction Set. Try starting this file and see if it works. The text files in the documentation folder for the archive explain how to use Adventure Construction Set. There's even the Apple II manual PDF in that folder as well which explains the game system. Inconveniently, you cannot simply double-click on any of the ACS game module regions, even though they are listed as .D64 disk images. You have to load Adventure Construction Set and then select the Play option from the function key menu of the game. This means you also have to have complete mastery of your emulator's commands for swapping disks and changing the fact that your emulator stops looking at the 'advcnst1.d64' disk image and is looking at one of my game module images such as 'MUSHITSU1.d64'. (This is a hassle the first few times you do it but becomes familiar with practice. I didn't design ACS, but it actually is pretty intuitive once you get the hang of it.) Hope that helps. ![]() Comments are closed.
